Considering Homeshooling Your Children?

You Say… God Says

You say... God saysA few days back I posted an image on our Facebook page that showed what we might say and next to that what God has to say about it and next the that was Bible verses related to it. That post was shared 221 times and we were asked if we could post a printer friendly of it so people would be able to easily print it out and hang it on there wall so today I’m going to do just that.

New Video Series From HSLDA

Today I’d like to call your attention to a video series being produced by the Home School Legal Defense Association. This is actually the second season of this series and the video that caught my eye today is the latest video in the series.

In this video Zan and Joe Tyler talk about what is was like for them when they started homeschooling their children back in 1984. Back then the Tylers found it necessary to hire an attorney in order to find out what the homeschool laws were in their home state of South Carolina, because, at that time, neither the state board of education nor the local school district would give them that information.

Despite threats from the state superintendent of education to jail Zan on truancy charges if they did not stop homeschooling, the Tylers persisted. “The battle over parental rights is important because these children are God’s children first,” Zan says. “And He’s given us their lives to steward. They are not the state’s children.”
